Consecutive Interpreting

Consecutive Interpreting is the most common mode of interpreting because it resembles the way in which people usually talk to each other. It follows a slightly different process than simultaneous interpreting. In consecutive interpreting, one speaker says a few sentences then pauses, the interpreter interprets, the other speaker responds then pauses, and the interpreter interprets.

At Translation Excellence, our culturally competent interpreters have a heightened awareness of cultural factors that influence what people say and how they behave. Our qualified interpreters present behaviors in their correct cultural context to overcome barriers such as misunderstanding due to differences in culture.

When do I need a consecutive Interpreter?

Consecutive interpreting is most common for medical and legal appointments amd immigration interviews, clinical research trials, or for any situation where the language barrier exists across a single individual.
