CART Captioning Services

Communication Access Real-time Translation (CART) is a form of captioning that TE can provide, remotely or on-site, that displays the voice-to-text translation of spoken English into written English directly onto your device.

LET US SHOW YOU WHAT WE CAN DO.

Real-time voice-to-text translation of spoken English into written English.

TE provides both on-site and remote CART captioning for anyone needing communication access services. These services are typically provided for meetings, classes, conferences, training sessions, or civic events. At the end of each assignment, TE can provide a transcript of the conversation if requested.

Using state-of-the-art technology, TE captions your videos and live events.

In today’s fast-paced digital age, real-time captioning offers a cutting-edge solution for immediate voice-to-text translation. This service, delivered by expert captioners, can be provided both on-site and remotely. The translated text is effortlessly displayed on various devices such as computers, laptops, tablets, smartphones, or even on projected screens through a web browser.

When it comes to live presentations, these instantaneous captions are termed “real-time” captions. TE’s CART captioning stands out for its precision, eliminating the inaccuracies commonly seen in auto-captioning, ensuring strict adherence to accessibility standards. Importantly, we at TE prioritize human expertise over AI captioning, as AI solutions, at their peak, offer only about 60% accuracy. This level of inaccuracy is not in line with ADA-approved accommodations.

Our captioning seamlessly integrates with multiple platforms, making it apt for diverse settings. From conventions, seminars, and meetings to interviews, film screenings, and beyond, our captioning services amplify your message’s reach and foster inclusivity. Notably, CART captioning pairs excellently with sign language interpreting services, enhancing the communication experience.

CART captioning interfaces seamlessly with the most commonly used streaming and web conferencing platforms.

Additional Services

TypeWell and C-Print

These services are similar to CART in that the service providers for both systems can provide a real-time display of the spoken information. C-Print and Typewell providers, however, provide a meaning-for-meaning representation of the spoken information versus verbatim, which has traditionally been the goal of CART providers. This service is typically found in educational environments.

Post-Production Interpreting

Our production team will record a polished, professional American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation of the recorded content by a nationally certified interpreter and add the recorded interpreting to the existing video picture-in-picture.

Post-production interpreting can be added to:

  • Web Content
  • Commercials
  • Classroom resources
  • Public service announcements (PSA’s)
  • And More!

Closed- and Open-Captioning

Post-production captions are written by a certified captioner and undergo a review process to ensure accuracy before being imbedded into the recorded content. While auto-captions can be a convenient option, they are often significantly delayed or incorrect. They also do not allow for editing. For these reasons, auto-captions are not ADA compliant.

Post-production captioning can be added to:

  • Training Videos
  • Commercials
  • Public Service
  • Announcements (PSA’s)
  • Recorded Events
  • And More!
