Simultaneous interpreting is a mode of interpreting where the interpreter interprets at the same time that the speaker is speaking, just a few words behind. This mode of interpreting is extremely useful when interpreting for a single person in a conference without causing a single disruption to the programs flow. It is also most useful when time is critical such as a medical emergency.
At Translation Excellence, our culturally competent interpreters have a heightened awareness of cultural factors influence what people say and how they behave. We understand that language differences are not the only barrier separating an English-speaking provider from a non-English-speaking patient. Our qualified interpreters act as a cultural broker by removing barriers and misunderstandings in a wide array of settings.
When do I need a simultaneous interpreter?
Simultaneous interpreters are indispensible resources during situations where additional time is limited or unavailable. In other words, there is no time to have the speaker pause regularly.
